“We have 15 permanent employees and hire a large number of haulage subcontractors.”

What motivated you to get a fuel card?

“We run a fleet of 66 company vehicles. Our business needs petrol and a fuel card provides us with an effective means of payment. Credit cards can be used to buy things other than fuel and receipts can easily go missing.”

What is your average fuel cost per month?

“On average, we spend between £40 to 50k on fuel each month with Tesco and an additional £100k each month with another provider. Both of these are controlled through a direct debit card.”

How long have you been using fuel cards and which ones have you used?

“We first signed up for a fuel card 25 years ago and since then we’ve used Keyfuels, Tesco and Morrisons.”
