Atos Origin, an international IT services company, today announced the appointment of two new Vice Presidents to lead the health and government sales teams in the UK. Steve Wells joins from BT to lead health and Chris Bingham joins from Capgemini to lead government.

Chris Bingham, Vice President of Government at Atos Origin in the UK, said: “My move to Atos Origin provides an excellent opportunity to join a company that is extremely well established in the public sector and that plays a leading role in helping the sector meet and exceed its challenging Operational Efficiency Programme agenda. In particular, I will be focusing on its unique Hi-Tech Transactional Services business, which will help us to drive new value into government departments and local authorities looking to deliver savings and improve services to citizens.”
Steve Wells joined Atos Origin at the start of March 2010 to lead the health sales team. Steve has extensive experience in both the health and IT marketplaces, with much of his early career focused on diagnostic imaging, life support and orthopaedics. He worked for 13 years at Hewlett Packard in a variety of senior sales and sales management roles. He spent time in the healthcare division before being promoted to lead the UK support services business. For the last six years, Steve was General Manager at BT, running the health business for the first three years and headed up the US global partner business in California.
Chris Bingham also joined Atos Origin at the start of March to lead the government sales team. Chris has had considerable sales and sales management success in both the private and public sectors. He spent the early part of his career at Hewlett-Packard in the defence and manufacturing sectors. In 2000, he took up a role in Capgemini’s telecom and media sector where he ran the Vodafone account in Northern Europe before taking up a number of prominent roles in the government team. During the last five years, he has led significant engagements in local government and justice and home affairs, and most recently, has played an influential role in Capgemini's global public security team
