Atos to support public sector digital services on two Scottish Government frameworks

Atos, a leader in digital services, has been contracted to supply two Scottish Government frameworks for Digital and Technology Services (DaTs) and Hosting, to help the public sector achieve its digital ambitions by harnessing the power of new technology.

The multi-supplier agreement frameworks, which have a combined estimated value of £130m and will be delivered over two years, cover a range of DaTs and data hosting services including provision of service desks, digital transformation, information and communications technology (ICT) projects, service/system integration, product support, network support, co-location and cloud services. These frameworks will help deliver the latest phase of the strategic priorities outlined in the Scottish Government’s publication ‘Scotland’s Digital Future: A Strategy for Scotland’ which sets out in detail how it intends to achieve its digital ambition.

The frameworks apply to Central Government, health boards, local authorities, universities and colleges, the third sector (voluntary organisations and charities registered in Scotland) and other public bodies.

Gavin Thomson, Senior Vice President – Scotland & Wales, Atos, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to strengthen our working relationship with the Scottish Government and the new contracts are a testament to our unique positioning in terms of public sector expertise.”

“We look forward to working with the public sector teams to use our diverse range of services and expert knowledge to help modernise their in-house technology and processes. Through the adoption of new digital technologies and hosting solutions we are confident we will help deliver efficiencies for all involved.”

The main priorities identified in the Scottish Government’s public sector digital strategy include the delivery and demonstration of real cash savings, as well as sustainable procurement, and improving access to public sector contracts.

Atos already delivers IT managed services to many Scottish public sector clients.
