Atos technology powers speedy check-in at Hotel La Tour

Self service kiosks set to transform leisure and hospitality industry
London, 26 April 2012
Atos, an international IT services company, has today announced the deployment of Atos Hi-tech Transactional Services (HTTS) technology at one of the newest luxury hotels in Britain. The newly opened Hotel La Tour in Birmingham marks the self services kiosk introduction to the four star hotel market, providing quick, efficient check-in and check-out services and enabling reception staff to devote their time and effort to ensuring the very highest level of customer service.

Jane Schofield, Managing Director, Hotel La Tour, said: “Hotel La Tour required great technology partnered with high levels of design, aesthetics and customer service. Atos was able to provide us with the perfect solution, which we fully expect to be rolled out across the luxury hotel sector. The deployment of Atos HTTS kiosks will improve the experience of our customers and allow us to concentrate on offering the best customer experience.”

Matthew Headford, CTO, Atos Hi-tech Transactional Services UK, said: “HTTS is about helping Atos customers transact and interact with their customers. Atos already partners with leading hotel brands to provide self service check-in kiosks, and this new deployment with the Hotel La Tour is an exciting venture into the high-end hotel market. Across the hospitality and leisure sector, Atos HTTS technology is helping to reduce costs, improve service and increase sales.”

Atos is a market leader in transactional services. HTTS is an important part of the Atos business globally and represents an area of considerable expertise and profitable market growth. Atos experience in this area includes processing high volume card payments for some of the world’s largest banks and providing software for the management of ticket and fare information for train travel. This expertise is now being brought to bear within the UK leisure industry, with Atos HTTS technology already deployed within hotels, cinemas and leisure venues.

At Hotel La Tour, Atos HTTS self service technology takes the form of four attractive, high-quality kiosks in the hotel lobby. The simple touch screen interface and chip and PIN technology is second nature to users. They provide guests with a speedy check-in experience, cross-referencing their booking details and automatically updating the hotel’s property management system. The kiosks also allow for additional requests, such as a morning newspaper or restaurant booking. Payment is simple, a room key card is generated, and guests are on their way.
