Leading international IT services company Atos Origin has been named on a framework with an estimated value between £150m and £300m over 4 years.
23 May 2011
Atos Origin and other successful suppliers have been named on a new Scottish Government IT Managed Services Framework Agreement, working with Scottish Procurement to support the Scottish Sustainable Procurement Action Plan.

The framework will provide all Scottish public and third sector bodies access to leading IT managed services organisations and the ability to achieve a step increase in value for money and a more streamlined procurement process. The contract will span three years, with an optional extension of one year, with an estimated value of between £150m to £300m over the 4 years.

The new agreement includes service providers that are capable of meeting a diverse range of services to meet the requirements of public sector bodies including service desk, desktop support, server support, application and website hosting, application and website support, and disaster recovery services. The framework has been designed to enable access to the most competitive prices within the short timescales required to support public sector reform in Scotland.

Steve Langmead, Senior Vice President – Scotland, Atos Origin, said: “This announcement is significant for Atos Origin and is testament to our unique positioning in terms of public sector expertise. Scottish Procurement should be commended for having the vision to prepare this framework which gives the Scottish public sector the ability to get the benefits of working with the country’s leading IT organisations within the timescales required to protect public services in these difficult times.”

Atos Origin already delivers IT managed services across the Scottish public sector including NHSScotland, Skills Development Scotland, Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Criminal Case Review Commission, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Aberdeen City Council.
