Atos Consulting scoops three awards at the MCA annual awards ceremony

In recognition of excellent operational and technology transformational projects at the Global Fund and CLM
London, 30 April 2010
Atos Origin, an international IT services company, announced that its business consulting division, Atos Consulting, won three awards at the annual Management Consultancies Association (MCA) Management Awards Ceremony held in London last night. For its work with The Global Fund, Atos Consulting won the Best International Project and Best Overall Public Sector Project while for its work with CLM, it won the Best Technology Project.

“We are delighted that our work has once again been recognised and rewarded at the UK’s leading consulting event,” said Paula Sussex, Senior Vice President for Atos Consulting. “These awards highlight the breadth and depth of our expertise and experience in delivering on time and to budget operational and technology transformational projects that deliver real business value to our clients.”

The Global Fund
The Global Fund is an international institution based in Geneva that invests money to save lives by fighting the world’s three biggest killer diseases: aids, tuberculosis and malaria. In 2008, the decision was taken to separate from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and become an independent organisation in order that it could continue to do its work in the most efficient, flexible and appropriate way.

With full autonomy just seven months away, The Global Fund appointed Atos Consulting to set up all the corporate functions previously provided by the WHO without disrupting the normal disbursal of funds. Atos Consulting established optimum new policies and processes across HR, training, finance, administration, procurement and IT services to build the new organisation.

CLM
CLM, made up of three construction firms: CH2M Hill, Laing O’Rourke and Mace, was appointed in 2006 by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) to build all the new venues and infrastructure needed for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In the rush to build the major venues, CLM needed help with its own internal structures, notably IT, and appointed Atos Consulting to define the strategy for an integrated IT function. Fielding a team of mixed skills, Atos Consulting set up a governance that enabled the consortium to work closely with the ODA and devised a structure to coordinate the input of different disciplines. The result was an IT function that helped put CLM ahead of schedule on building the main stadium and saved an estimated £30 million.

The 14th annual MCA Management Awards, held at Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, celebrated the best management consulting projects from the last year. They identified the best case studies in each of 12 categories where organisations, in the private or public sector, have achieved a significant improvement in performance through working with management consultants.
