Opportunity to manage my own projects

What was your first day like?

I was obviously a little nervous as I didn’t know what to expect, but as soon as I arrived I was made to feel really welcome: I was warmly greeted and introduced to everyone straight away. I was given a tour of the offices and was able to ask as many questions as I liked. Once I had my equipment, my manager was brilliant and spent the afternoon with me explaining how the company works and what was expected of me.

What did you think of Atos?

As soon as I arrived, my first impression was of a warm, inclusive company with people who are willing to help. This proved to be correct and at any point during my placement if I had any questions I did not hesitate to ask, as I knew they would be welcomed. My department was made up of wonderfully dedicated and helpful people.

What projects/work did you get involved with?

I was in the Employee Engagement team within HR and was involved in a range of projects that were ongoing through my three month internship. I helped organise charity events, update BlueKiwi (the internal social collaboration tool), create a process map for the gamification of employee Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and was able to create my own diversity survey, which was sent out company-wide.

What were the best bits?

I really enjoyed getting involved with projects that other people had started and giving my input, but the best bit for me was creating the Diversity survey as this was my own project. I was really lucky that Atos were very trusting in giving me free reign to complete the project– this was a big positive in my eyes.

How would you describe an Atos internship to a friend?

A brilliant experience.

What experiences will you take away with you?

The intern three-day induction course was an amazing experience and I learnt a lot about myself and how to work effectively with others. Over the course of the internship I learnt some key skills that I will take forward, such as communicating with management and organising my time more efficiently.

What do you want to do next and why?

I enjoyed my time at Atos during so much that I asked to come back to join the graduate programme – I’ve just started my Graduate career with Atos, having recently joined the Business Consulting graduate scheme.

It's time to start your journey with Atos.
