Where is Runcorn?
Our Atos office is located in Runcorn, situated in Halton a Liverpool City region which sits astride the River Mersey to the east of Liverpool.
Are there any other grads working from this office?
There is a small community of graduates at Runcorn, and we meet up for lunch and drinks after work whenever possible. We often arrange to meet in town at the weekend to relive the two-week graduate induction. Needless to say, we are looking forward to having more graduates join us.
Is it easy to travel and park?
Life will be simple if you have a car, as there are plenty of spaces available in the Atos car park. Alternatively, there are two train stations nearby: Runcorn, approximately 4.2 miles away (a 10-minute taxi journey, costing about £8), which has hourly trains to London Euston and the South West, and Runcorn East, which is approximately 2.8 miles away. Liverpool is also only a 20 minute train journey from Runcorn so easily commutable by train.
If I move to the area, where are the best places to live?
A lot of people live in the surrounding areas and commute. This is because Runcorn is ideally situated about 15 miles from the city of Liverpool, which has every facility you could need. For those wishing to live close to the office, the best choices are Stockton Heath, Frodsham and Warrington. The surrounding area is remote and scenic, with occasional wildlife – it’s especially enjoyable in the summer.
What are the options for lunch?
There is an on-site canteen offering hot food and sandwiches, all at great prices our graduates also often go to the Evenwood farm pub for lunch or drinks after work. Also within easy driven distance is Halton Lea, which has a small indoor shopping centre with the usual food shops – Greggs and Subway in the centre itself, plus nearby branches of Dominos, McDonald’s and KFC, plus an Asda café.
