What you’ll be doing
Joining a high-calibre technical team, you'll enjoy intensive training. You’ll get a chance to build on your existing transferable business skills while developing you technical aptitude. Whether you focus on Storage, Unix, Wintel, switching and routing, vendor management or infrastructure security, you can expect to have a significant impact on everything we do – and plenty of scope to progress into senior technical support, line management or service management roles.
The responsibilities are wide ranging, so you could find yourself getting involved in a variety of activities for example, being a key member of a team on a high-profile implementation project. From day to day, you could be managing product upgrades for clients; safeguarding infrastructures; modelling costs; controlling data growth and capacity; introducing new tools; analysing incidents; setting up cluster software for high availability; undertaking technical assurance, or building servers or network security protection from scratch. You’ll be presented with enormous challenges and a really fast paced learning curve.
You'll be provided with on-going technical training aligned to your role, both on the job and via formal courses, with the aim of achieving industry-recognised certifications, allowing you to fast track your career.
As a vital member of a highly skilled and close-knit technical team, you'll develop essential transferable working skills, such as time management, strategies to work well under pressure, organisation through effective prioritisation and strong communication skills. There is also an opportunity to move into team leader and management positions.
You’ll need to be motivated to work as part of a team, and demonstrate good communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, coupled with a methodical approach to your work are a requirement, as well as the ability to develop good relationships with customers. A strong interest in technology is a must, along with an aptitude to learn quickly and a passion to deliver solutions that help power our clients’ progress.
