If you’re interested in living and working near Edinburgh, our Livingston location is only 13 miles from the heart of the City, a short journey by car or train. Where is Livingston?
Our Atos office is located in Livingston, about 15 miles (25 km) west of Edinburgh and 30 miles (50 km) east of Glasgow.
Are there any other grads working from this office?
We have a small community of graduates who regularly meet up for lunch in the onsite Costa Coffee and arrange drinks outside work along with other graduates based in our Glasgow office.
Is it easy to travel and park?
There is plenty of parking onsite. Driving from Edinburgh city centre takes around 45 minutes, driving from the edge of Edinburgh takes around 20 minutes, and driving from Glasgow takes around 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. The nearest train station is Livingston North, from where you can get regular trains to Glasgow or Edinburgh. Atos runs a free shuttlebus service in time for direct trains to and from Edinburgh.
If I move to the area, where are the best places to live?
There are some residential areas around the Livingston office; however, these are more suited to families, and if you are looking for somewhere livelier it would be advisable to move to Edinburgh. The west side of Edinburgh is best if you plan to drive to work. It is also possible to travel from
Glasgow to Livingston; however, it is a bit more of a commute as the traffic on the M8 can make the journey time longer.
What are the options for lunch?
There is an onsite café and there are shops within driving distance. Livingston town centre has a wide variety of cafés, restaurants and even the largest designer outlet in Europe. Onsite you will also find tea and coffee-making facilities, microwaves and fridges if you prefer to bring your own lunch.
