Within commuting distance of both Southampton and Swindon, Andover is a small, quiet town on the River Anton in the beautiful Test Valley in Hampshire. Its surroundings include two nature reserves and Herewood forest. The town centre itself has a high street with shops, cafés and restaurants and a twice-weekly farmers’ market. It’s a really peaceful place to work: perfect if you don’t want a busy office or town.
Andover has its own museum and there’s a cinema and leisure centre offering a variety of activities such as climbing, swimming and exercise classes – Atos employees also get a discounted rate, so it is popular with the team.
Where is Andover?
The Andover office is well located to get to and from locations around the South and South West of England; it takes an hour and ten minutes on the train to London Waterloo.
Are there any other grads working from this office? There are a handful of graduates at Andover Kingsgate House who regularly meet up with grads based at other offices – especially London as it’s so easy to get to. It’s a close-knit team, and small enough that everyone knows each other quite well in the office.
Is it easy to travel and park?
There’s an employee car park with plenty of spaces. If you take the train, it’s an easy 20-minute walk to the office from the station.
If I move to the area, where are the best places to live?
You can live in Andover – lots of the grads lived here when they first joined, then some moved out to Basingstoke where there’s a bit more going on and which is only a 20-minute commute from the office. There are lots of pretty little country towns and villages surrounding Andover, and it’s close enough to commute from Southampton if you fancy living on the coast.
What are the options for lunch?
People tend to bring their own lunch in, but there’s a pub a short distance away as well as local supermarkets, or you can pop into town for fish and chips.
