Training & Support
At Atos, we offer a structured learning journey, providing the technical and business skills you need to confidently take on new responsibilities. Whichever scheme you choose, you’ll earn industry-recognised qualifications. You’ll find our culture relaxed and supportive, yet focused and hardworking, and you’ll be given the flexibility to bring new ideas to the table, with guidance on hand whenever you need it.
Apprentice Programme Induction
All our apprentices join a one-week residential induction course, and you’ll be invited to attend the induction closest to your start date. Alongside other apprentices from across the business, it’s a fantastic opportunity to get to know likeminded people from the very beginning.
The induction programme introduces you to the working environment at Atos, and offers training on a range of key business and personal skills, to help you succeed from day one. The programme prepares you to adopt a professional and proactive, problem solving mind-set, and equips you with the behaviours and skills needed to work effectively with your managers, peers and customers. You’ll also gain insight into your personal working style, and will be given the opportunity to show off your new skills at a networking event near the end of the week.
Relationships that will influence your career
Outward Bound
Within the first couple of months, you’ll join a week long outdoor residential experience in Cumbria. Our adventurous and challenging outdoor learning programme will equip you with valuable skills to support your education through your apprenticeship, as well as transferrable work skills and essential life skills. Hosted in the natural environment, by highly skilled and qualified trainers, you’ll learn what you’re capable of achieving with the right support, challenge and encouragement.
Apprentice Scheme Training
During your apprenticeship, you’ll be based in the workplace for at least 30 hours per week, supported by on the job training. Over the duration of your apprenticeship, you will attend training courses tailored to your scheme, at a specialist training organisation or an Atos work site. You will complete off-the-job training in blocks, with typically 6-12 weeks of training over the course of your apprenticeship, depending on the scheme. This comprehensive training programme will give you all the technical or business skills you need to succeed in your role and lead to industry recognised qualifications on completion.
You can find more details about the specific training for each apprenticeship in our individual scheme descriptions.
Training tailored to your ambitions
Continued Support & Development
Support for your continued development does not stop at training programmes, as you’ll have a Skills Coach assigned to support you individually throughout your apprenticeship. You’ll have regular contact with them every 6-8 weeks, to support you through your training and assignments, ensuring you are ready for your end point assessment, to successfully complete your apprenticeship. You’ll also have access to a mobile driven education platform, so you’ll be able to access information and learning modules on a diverse range of subjects 24/7 from any location.
A long-term commitment to growth
After Your Apprenticeship
There’s no limit to where you can go as an apprentice, depending on your ambitions. We have a structured career framework, which gives you the opportunity to map your long-term career path from the onset and there can be potential to continue your learning on the next level of apprenticeship, right up to a level 6 degree-apprenticeship programme.
This is an ideal opportunity if you are unsure whether you want to study to degree level – you don’t have to decide now, but the opportunity can be there for you throughout your career at Atos. And for those who do progress, you can obtain a degree level qualification, whilst working at the same time, and without any of the fees associated with attending university.
