Structured Training & Support
At Atos, we offer a structured learning journey that provides you with the technical and business skills you need to confidently take on new responsibilities. You'll find our culture relaxed and supportive, yet focused and hardworking, and you’ll be given the flexibility to bring new ideas to the table, with guidance on hand whenever you need it.
Apprentice Programme Induction
All our apprentices join a one-week residential induction course, and you’ll be invited to attend the induction closest to your start date. Alongside other apprentices from across the business, it’s a fantastic opportunity to get to know likeminded people from the very beginning.
The induction programme introduces you to the working environment at Atos, and offers training on a range of key business and personal skills, to help you succeed from day one. The programme prepares you to adopt a professional and proactive mind-set, and equips you with the behaviours and skills needed to work effectively with your managers, peers and customers. You'll also gain insight into your personal working style, and will be given the opportunity to show off your new skills at a networking event near the end of the week.
Apprentice Scheme Training
For both our Advanced and Higher Level schemes, you’ll be based in the workplace for at least 30 hours per week, as most training takes place on the job. Over the duration of your apprenticeship, you will attend training courses tailored to your scheme, at a specialist training organisation or an Atos work site. You will complete off-the-job training over a number of days in a block with typically 6 - 12 weeks training, depending on the scheme.
Both Atos and our training provider QA Apprenticeships will support you through your training and completion of assignments and assessments, to ensure you successfully complete your apprenticeship. You’ll find more details about the training for each apprenticeship in our individual scheme descriptions.
On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you’ll receive formal qualifications based on your scheme. Examples include City & Guilds Java, CISCO networking and Microsoft certifications; as well as Project Management diplomas and other industry standard qualifications. What’s more, you’ll pick up a range of other business and functional skills as you work.
Your development doesn’t stop at the end of your apprenticeship programme, that’s why we offer you a permanent contract from day one. We have a structured career framework, which gives you the opportunity to map your long-term career path from the onset, and there’s the potential for further study and training after your apprenticeship.
We work closely with QA Apprenticeships to deliver world-class apprenticeship programmes for those of you seeking the first step in your career, post school or college. So you can be confident that you’ll be training with some of the best and most engaging professionals in the industry.
QA Apprenticeships is the first IT Apprenticeships business to be rated Ofsted 'Outstanding’ and has won multiple awards for their IT, developer, digital marketing and business services apprenticeships. You will be assigned an individual assessor from QA, who will support you for the duration of your apprenticeship, through regular workplace visits to provide advice and guidance. They’ll encourage you to demonstrate your competence, knowledge and understanding on the job – helping you reach your full potential. Your apprenticeship tutor will support you in a classroom environment, teaching you new skills, promoting learning and providing assignments to track and improve your understanding.
